WHISTLER BIKE GUIDE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN BUSINESS?

Whistler Bike Guide has been in publication since 1989. Our tour programs began in 2008 but the people involved with WBG are not new at riding or providing exceptional travel experiences.

WHAT KINDS OF TRIPS ARE OFFERED?

We have adventures that range from day rides in the resort of Whistler to trips throughout British Columbia. We explore our super natural terrain on two wheels! We have trips for all riding abilities, families, women only and longer “classic” rides for experienced riders. Our Whistler partners offer a variety of guided tours, accommodation and other activities.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT EACH TRIP IS LIKE?

This website provides full details of each trip. If you still have questions, call us at 1-888-902-1221 or e-mail us at ride@whistlerbikeguide.com. We would be happy to discuss our adventure trips with you!

WHO GOES ON WBG ADVENTURES TRIPS?

People who love the outdoors, are health conscious and love to ride in a pristine, natural environment. Age is not a factor as much as fitness and the ability to ride a mountain bike. We have some amazing guides over 60!  Families are a big focus for us as we see our trips as an excellent way to bond with your kids and promote an active lifestyle. Our trips will have a mix of men and women (except our women only trips), typically ranging in age from 20 to 65+. People travel to Whistler from all over the world; your traveling companions will be like minded people with a passion for the great outdoors.

WHAT IS YOUR MAXIMUM GROUP SIZE?

We ride with a maximum 5 riders per guide. We have handled group sizes of 30 riders splitting them between different ability levels and trails. Regardless of the size of the group we will split the group so that the numbers riding a particular trail is kept to a reasonable number. No one enjoys riding in large packs.

WHAT IF I’M TRAVELING ALONE?

Travelling alone is a great way to meet new friends. Our Whistler accommodations providers offer single occupancy options.

CAN I BE COMFORTABLE DOING ADVENTURE TRAVEL?

Hard adventure, soft beds is what we like to promote. Adventure travel and physical comfort can go hand-in-hand. Whistler features a range of accommodations right up to some of the world’s leading hotel brands.

DO YOU TAKE CHILDREN ON YOUR TRIPS?

All our guided tours carry a minimum age of 12 years old in order to participate in riding. This does not exclude younger children however on all trips. We encourage family travel and multi-generational trips that include all family members.  Many of our partner bike shops provide kids bikes and trailers.

DO YOU OFFER PRIVATE DEPARTURES FOR SMALL GROUPS?

Yes. We offer private departures for all kinds of groups from couples, families and friends to clubs and organizations. Contact us for details.

WHO ARE YOUR GUIDES?

Our guides are what set us apart from many bike outfitters.  WBG Adventures uses knowledgeable local experts to lead our trips and all have relevant first aid certification. These men and women know their home ground intimately, and are enthusiastic and accommodating. They “show you the ropes” and encourage you every step of the way!

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Usually all you need to bring is your personal gear. Good all weather bike clothing is a must. You may bring your pedals, shoes and saddle but no need to bring your bike.

WHAT’S THE FOOD LIKE?

With over 100 restaurants in Whistler there is something for all tastes and budgets. Coastal British Columbia is a seafood lover’s paradise. We are the Salmon capital of the world and also serve up local clams, shrimp and oysters. Many of our restaurants serve up locally grown, organic food. We like good food up here and plenty of it after a day on the trails. We’re not short of watering holes either.

HOW ARE YOUR TRIPS RATED?

We have active trips for every skill level, novice to expert. These guidelines will help you select the level of adventure that’s right for you.
